Aster "Apollonia Apple Blossom"
Chrysanthemum-flowered Aster "Apollonia Apple Blossom".
A stunning, fully double aster featuring very large (Ø10-11 cm), lush blooms in a delicate shade. The bushes are tall and sturdy, reaching a height of 60-70 cm, and can produce up to 10 strong flower stalks. Flowering starts early and is exceptionally abundant and long-lasting.
It is widely used for growing in flower beds, at the back of mixed borders, and is absolutely perfect for creating gorgeous autumn floral arrangements. This is an ideal cut flower variety: its blooms last incredibly long in a vase with water, perfectly maintaining their shape and color. The variety is highly resistant to common diseases and withstands strong winds and heavy autumn rain remarkably well.
Asters are traditionally grown from seedlings. As soon as the first pair of true leaves develops, the young seedlings should be carefully pricked out. The seedlings are planted in their permanent location at the age of 30-35 days. Direct sowing of seeds outdoors is also possible in early spring or before winter (in late October) to a shallow depth of 0.5-1 cm.
For abundant blooming, the plants require regular watering, timely weeding, soil loosening, and complex feeding.
